Islamic Relief is providing emergency aid to the flood-stricken regions of Libya. They are working with local partners on the ground to deliver urgently needed relief such as mattresses, blankets, food packs, and other vital aid to affected communities. Islamic Relief was one of the first humanitarian organizations to reach Derna, one of the affected cities, and has already committed an initial £100,000 to provide emergency aid. The situation in Libya is dire, with over 11,300 people reported dead and around 10,000 people still missing. The flooding has caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and buildings. Schools and shops have been ordered to close. The city of Derna alone is estimated to have lost over 3,000 residents in the disaster.
