Waves for Water Inc.
Waves For Water (W4W) is a nonprofit organization established with a primary aspirational goal to provide global access to clean water to those in need. A secondary goal is to redefine how humanitarian aid is implemented. W4W's approach is providing practical solutions through water source creation (well digging, well restoration, and rainwater harvesting) and/or water purification (water filtration systems) based on each community's specific needs.
To date, W4W has conducted 105 custom projects in 27 countries resulting in clean water access to over 8 million people worldwide. More than 150,000 water filtration systems and 100 rain harvesting systems have been implemented, and more than 100 wells have been constructed or restored. Since 2010, W4W responded to every major natural disaster both near and far from the earthquakes in Haiti and Nepal, to flooding in Pakistan, to Hurricane Sandy on the east coast of the US. Additionally, it has responded to a range of chronic disasters from the war in Afghanistan to the Ebola crisis in West Africa to refugee aid in Syria.
Key partnerships and ongoing relationships have been forged with major companies in the corporate sector such as Hurley/Nike, BMW, Tumi, and Red Bull; with the US Military; with influential governmental agencies and NGOs such as the United Nations, the Nepalese Ministry of Health, and Gates Foundation/Clinical Research Management; and with the public at large through the W4W "Do It Yourself" platform.
